The Rustic Ruhl is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization. It is our mission to save farm and exotic animals. At first, our goal was to create a fun place for the farmer’s children to run around. However, our love for animals and the need for animal rescues quickly altered our original goal and changed it into a mission to save animals and provide the community with the opportunity to interact with them.
Our first rescue was a pig that was confined to a small dog crate and it made our hearts ache for her. We were able to see her change from a sad neglected pig into a pig full of love and joy. A short time after receiving the pig we gained two new bunnies. A woman was no longer able to care for them and dropped them off. Since we were receiving new animals on a monthly basis, we decided to file for non-profit status. We were so grateful that we were able to become a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization. After we received non-profit status our farm we welcomed two cats and another pig. We hope with the ability to accept donations we can continue to grow our farm and rescue more animals. Our ultimate goal is to create a farm where everyone and every animal is welcomed and loved.
We recently had a visitor with special needs who does not like textures. The mother of the child was amazed to see her son touching the animals and feeding them. In that moment we realized the potential of our organization. Our farm has only been in existence for a little over a year and we have already witnessed the positive impact it is having on our community.
Our story began with a father giving his children an unforgettable childhood; we hope to see our story continue with a grandfather whose grandchildren come visit the farm where their parents grew up. We hope you join our story and bring your family to visit our family.
